Researchers from IISc have fabricated reduced graphene oxide sheets strain gauges for application as pressure transducers. These nanosheets opens up a new window for next generation innovative electronic devices and can find applications in nuclear plants, oil and
natural gas lines etc.

BACKGROUND

The existing technologies are semiconductor based which require processing and assembling in clean room environment making it expensive and less affordable.

  • Does not require clean room for processing and assembling.
  • Fabrication includes an integrated structure and therefore can measure macroscopic electrical properties.

COMMERCIALIZATION

IISc has filed an application for grant of patent in India.
